Simpler Recycling

Simpler Recycling is a reform to the recycling system. It means that people across England will be able to recycle the same materials, whether at home, work or school, ending confusion over what can and cannot be recycled in different parts of the country.

From 31st March 2025, It is now law for all businesses, charities and public sector organisations in England with 10+ employees (including healthcare establishments and academic institutions) to sort their waste for recycling.

To comply with Simpler Recycling requirements, waste must be sorted into four streams:
